Proud to be Sri Lanka’s most trusted hospital for compassionate and quality healthcare

Our surgical suite comprises 6 ultra-modern operation theaters (OTs) designed to handle everything from minor day-care procedures to complex multi-specialty surgeries. Each OT is a Class 100 laminar airflow theater with HEPA filtration systems maintaining bacterial counts below 10 CFU/m³ - equivalent to pharmaceutical cleanrooms. We have dedicated OTs for general surgery, orthopedics (with C-arm imaging), laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgery, obstetrics & gynecology (C-sections), ophthalmology (phacoemulsification), and a hybrid OT equipped with built-in angiography and MRI-compatible anesthesia systems. All OTs feature integrated ceiling-mounted pendants, 4K endoscopic towers, anesthesia workstations with multi-parameter monitoring, and emergency backup power with zero downtime. Our sterile supply department uses automated washer-disinfectors and ethylene oxide sterilization for heat-sensitive instruments. Post-operative recovery has 12 individual bays with 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for immediate post-anesthesia care.
Excellence in surgery requires more than equipment - it demands mastery. Our surgical team has performed thousands of successful procedures with excellent safety outcomes. We offer "bloodless surgery" protocols using cell salvage technology and intraoperative platelet gel preparation. For laparoscopy, we utilize 3D and fluorescence-guided imaging that highlights blood vessels and lymph nodes in real-time - significantly enhancing surgical precision. Our anesthesiologists are highly experienced and all are trained in difficult airway management and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks. We maintain a warm OT policy with controlled ambient temperature and forced-air warming blankets for patients. Post-operatively, our acute pain service provides continuous epidural infusions or patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), ensuring you wake up comfortable.
Pre-operative preparation: Stop eating several hours before surgery as advised by your surgical team. Bring all current medications in original bottles, especially blood thinners which must be stopped before surgery as advised. On admission day, you will meet your surgeon, anesthesiologist, and OT nurse - ask every question you have. For day-care surgeries, plan for a half-day stay. For major surgeries, expect a short hospitalization. No jewelry, contact lenses, dentures, or nail polish on surgery day. Our waiting area for families has real-time surgery status updates on a digital screen using coded patient IDs for privacy. For pediatric surgeries, one parent can accompany the child until anesthesia induction - this significantly reduces pre-operative anxiety.
