Proud to be Sri Lanka’s most trusted hospital for compassionate and quality healthcare

Our Master Health Checkup is a comprehensive, multi-system screening program designed to detect potential health problems before they become serious, assess your current health status, and provide a personalized roadmap for healthy living. Unlike fragmented care where you visit multiple doctors separately, our health checkup consolidates everything into a single, coordinated experience. We offer multiple packages tailored to age, gender, risk factors, and specific concerns including Essential Wellness for young healthy adults, Executive Health for working professionals including stress assessment, Cardiac Care focused on heart disease risk, Diabetes Complete for known diabetics or high-risk individuals, Women's Health including mammography and Pap smear, Senior Citizen with age-appropriate screening, and our most comprehensive Platinum Master Health Checkup. Typical components include Clinical Assessment with physician consultation reviewing medical history, family history, lifestyle factors, current medications, and physical examination including body mass index, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry; Cardiology including resting ECG and 2D echocardiography; Laboratory tests including complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid profile for cholesterol assessment, HbA1c for long-term glucose average, fasting and post-prandial blood sugar, liver function tests, kidney function tests, thyroid profile, vitamin levels, iron studies, uric acid, and urine complete analysis with microscopy; Imaging including chest X-ray and abdominal ultrasound evaluating liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas, and spleen; Cancer Screening as appropriate for age and gender including PSA, Pap smear, HPV testing, fecal occult blood testing, and tumor markers; and Specialty Consultations based on findings. Additional advanced options include CT coronary calcium score for heart attack risk assessment, carotid Doppler for stroke risk, pulmonary function tests for lung health, bone densitometry for osteoporosis risk, and stress management with dietary counseling. At the end of your checkup, you receive a detailed bound report followed by a one-on-one consultation with a senior physician who explains every finding in plain language, flags abnormal results with specific action plans, and prescribes any necessary medications or further testing.
What makes our Master Health Checkup exceptional is our systematic approach to finding problems early. We have detected countless early-stage cancers in completely asymptomatic patients, resulting in curative treatment rather than palliative care. We have identified many patients with previously undiagnosed diabetes or pre-diabetes and started them on lifestyle interventions before complications developed. We have found patients with significant coronary artery disease before their first heart attack. Our recall rate - patients needing additional testing after initial screening - reflects that we find something needing attention in many completely healthy-feeling individuals. This is not because we over-investigate but because we use sensitive, high-quality tests. However, we also avoid overdiagnosis - we follow evidence-based guidelines and do not screen for conditions where early detection doesn't improve outcomes. All laboratory tests are performed in our accredited lab with daily quality controls. All ultrasounds and echocardiograms are performed by radiologists and cardiologists, not technicians. All mammograms are double-read. The entire checkup is coordinated by a dedicated health navigator who guides you from station to station, ensures no waiting, and collects all reports before you meet the physician. We offer express checkup for basic screening, standard for comprehensive evaluation, and overnight stay packages for cardiac stress testing or sleep studies.
Preparing for your health checkup requires fasting for 10-12 hours before your appointment. Water is allowed but no food, tea, coffee, or juices. If you take daily medications, continue them unless specifically told otherwise - bring all medication bottles with you. For diabetic patients on insulin or certain oral medications, consult our team beforehand as you may need to adjust your morning dose to avoid hypoglycemia during fasting. Wear loose, two-piece clothing rather than one-piece dresses or jumpsuits as you will need to change for ECG and ultrasound. Avoid wearing jewelry. Bring your insurance card, identification, and any recent medical records or lab reports from other facilities. For women, schedule your mammogram about one week after your menstrual period starts when breasts are least tender. Avoid using deodorant, powder, or lotion on your chest on mammogram day. On checkup day, arrive at our dedicated Health Checkup Lounge which is separate from the general OPD. You will be given a gown to change into and a locker for belongings. A phlebotomist will draw blood samples. You will then receive a small breakfast before the fasting is broken. Throughout the morning, you will rotate through stations including ECG, ultrasound, chest X-ray, doctor consultation, treadmill test if scheduled, and mammogram if scheduled. Lunch is provided. Final physician consultation occurs after all testing is complete. After the checkup, you receive a preliminary verbal report the same day. A detailed written report follows within days via email with a password-protected PDF, plus a printed bound copy delivered by courier. If any critical findings are detected, we contact you immediately for urgent follow-up.
