Proud to be Sri Lanka’s most trusted hospital for compassionate and quality healthcare

Our dental department offers complete oral healthcare services under one roof, staffed by general dentists, orthodontists, periodontists, endodontists, and oral surgeons. Services include General Dentistry such as routine check-ups, scaling and polishing, tooth-colored composite fillings, root canal treatment, extractions including wisdom teeth, crowns and bridges, and complete or partial dentures; Pediatric Dentistry including children's check-ups, fluoride treatments, sealants, cavity fillings, space maintainers, and habit-breaking appliances for thumb sucking; Orthodontics including traditional metal braces, ceramic tooth-colored braces, lingual braces hidden behind teeth, and clear aligners for adults and teens; Cosmetic Dentistry including teeth whitening, porcelain veneers for gaps or discoloration or crooked teeth, gum contouring for gummy smiles, and digital smile design; Periodontics including gum disease treatment, scaling and root planing, gum flap surgery, gum grafting for recession, and laser gum therapy; Endodontics including complex root canals, re-treatment of failed previous root canals, and apicectomy which is surgical root end removal; and Oral Surgery including impacted wisdom tooth removal, dental implant placement for single or full-mouth rehabilitation, biopsy of oral lesions, jaw surgery for cysts or tumors or fractures, and pre-prosthetic surgery. Our dental operatory features digital intraoral scanners eliminating gag-inducing putty impressions, CBCT for 3D dental implant planning and wisdom tooth nerve localization, dental operating microscopes for precision root canals, and lasers for pain-free gum procedures. Nitrous oxide sedation is available for anxious patients. All instruments are sterilized in autoclaves with biological spore testing. Our in-house dental lab fabricates crowns, bridges, and dentures quickly, eliminating the long wait times typical of external labs.
What makes our dental service exceptional is our multidisciplinary approach - we don't just treat teeth, we treat the whole patient. A dentist who notices signs of teeth grinding might refer for sleep apnea evaluation. Gum disease is linked to heart disease and diabetes - we coordinate with physicians. Oral lesions suspicious for cancer receive immediate biopsy and appropriate referral. Our dental implant success rates are excellent using only approved implants from reputable manufacturers. All implant surgeries use guided surgery with CBCT-generated surgical stents, so the implant is placed exactly where planned, avoiding nerves and sinuses. For root canals, our use of dental microscopes increases success rates by allowing visualization of extra canals that might otherwise be missed. Our composite fillings achieve excellent longevity because we use rubber dam isolation and high-quality bonding agents. For pediatric patients, we use gentle behavioral techniques and have never needed to restrain a child. Our orthodontic treatment times are efficient using accelerated orthodontic techniques when appropriate. All clear aligner treatments include unlimited refinement trays - you don't pay extra if more aligners are needed. For dental phobia patients, we offer multiple sedation options including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, or intravenous sedation with an anesthesiologist present, successfully treating patients who haven't seen a dentist in years.
For new patients, your first visit includes a comprehensive oral examination, intraoral photographs, digital X-rays including panoramic and bitewings, screening for oral cancer where we examine your lips, cheeks, tongue, floor of mouth, and palate, and a treatment plan discussion. There is no pressure and no surprise charges. For routine preventive care, adults should have a cleaning and exam every six months. Children should start at age one or when the first tooth erupts, continuing every six months. Patients with diabetes, gum disease, or who smoke may need more frequent visits. Dental X-ray frequency follows established guidelines to minimize exposure while ensuring adequate diagnostic information. Our digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film. Most dental insurance plans cover preventive care fully, basic procedures partially, and major procedures at a lower percentage. We file all insurance claims electronically - you pay only your estimated co-pay. We also offer in-house membership plans for uninsured patients. For emergency dental care including severe pain, broken tooth, knocked-out tooth, lost filling or crown, or abscess with swelling, we are available. If a tooth is knocked out, place it back in the socket if possible, or store it in milk or saline or saliva but not water, and come immediately - we can often save it if treated promptly.
